Sources claim Fawcett is in critical but stable condition in a Los Angeles hospital. Reportedly, Fawcett is unconscious, and longtime love Ryan O'Neal has been with Fawcett during her hospitalization. PEOPLE has confirmed the news and reports that the actress was admitted to the hospital on Thursday.
Fawcett has been fighting rectal cancer since her diagnosis in 2006. Though she was diagnosed free of cancer, the disease has returned. She has recently undergone experimental stem-cell treatment in Germany.
Adding to Fawcett's troubles, son Redmond O'Neal was arrested on drug charges on Sunday morning.
TMZ adds that O'Neal was on jail grounds at the time of his arrest, having just dropped off two individuals at a detention center to visit a jailed friend. An officer performed a routine security check on O'Neal's automobile; O'Neal was subsequently arrested for possession of a controlled substance and bringing narcotics into a secured jail facility.
